Sliema ASC booked their spot in the next round of the European Aquatics Challenger Cup with an emphatic 19-13 victory over Maltese rivals San Ġiljan at the National Pool. The Blues laid the foundation for their triumph with a blistering start, racing to a commanding 7-2 lead in the opening stages. From that point onward, San Ġiljan struggled to recover as Sliema maintained control and cruised to their second consecutive win in the competition.

Star performer Sam Engerer stole the show, netting six goals to spearhead Sliema’s dominant display. His clinical finishing ensured the Blues not only claimed bragging rights in this local derby but also guaranteed a top-two finish in Group A. With confidence soaring and momentum firmly on their side, Sliema ASC now turn their attention to the next phase of the tournament, aiming to continue their impressive European campaign.
