Shaun Demicoli Qualifies for 2027 HYROX World Championships in Hong Kong

Maltese athlete Shaun Demicoli has secured qualification for the 2027 HYROX World Championships in Hong Kong following an impressive podium finish alongside Jordy Snel at HYROX Karlsruhe.

The achievement comes just a few races into Demicoli’s third HYROX season, marking a significant milestone in his sporting journey.

After spending his first season discovering the sport, Demicoli approached his second campaign with greater determination, narrowly missing out on World Championship qualification by just a few seconds.

However, his persistence and dedication have now paid off, with qualification secured much earlier than anticipated.

Demicoli expressed his delight at achieving this important objective, highlighting the progress made over the past three seasons.

With his place in Hong Kong confirmed, the Maltese athlete will now focus on improving his performances through intensive training ahead of the World Championships in June 2027.

He also hopes to qualify in additional categories as he continues competing throughout the season.

Demicoli thanked The Grind Maastricht, Visit Malta and Xendurance Europe for their continued support throughout his journey.

The qualification represents another proud achievement for the Maltese athlete, who will now aim to arrive in Hong Kong in peak condition and compete against the world's leading HYROX competitors.
