Santa Venera Lightnings Strengthen Long‑Term Project with Key Leadership and New Signings

Santa Venera Lightnings held an important strategic meeting last night with this year’s committee, continuing discussions on how to further develop and elevate the club’s long‑term project. President Joe Carbonaro described the current phase as “crucial”, emphasising that more player announcements will follow in the coming weeks as the club builds a competitive and well‑structured squad.

The Lightnings confirmed a major step forward in their technical setup: former Malta international Jeffrey Chetcuti has been appointed head coach, bringing top‑level experience and leadership. He will work closely with Kurt James, who takes on the role of Team Manager, strengthening the club’s organisational backbone.

The squad is already taking shape with several notable signings. Among them is Llywelyn Cremona, formerly of Valletta and Birkirkara, whose arrival adds creativity, experience and technical quality to the midfield. His signing is seen as a statement of intent from a club determined to grow ambitiously.
