SAN ĠILJAN ASC FIGHT BACK TO CLAIM CRUCIAL WIN AND ADVANCE IN EUROPEAN AQUATICS CHALLENGER CUP

San Ġiljan ASC booked their place in the next round of the European Aquatics Challenger Cup after defeating Israeli outfit Hapoel Palram Zvulun 14-10 at the Cottonera Sports Complex on Sunday.

Following Saturday’s setback against Sliema ASC, the Maltese team entered the match knowing only a win would keep their European hopes alive. The contest proved evenly balanced in the opening two sessions, with both sides trading goals and refusing to give an inch.

However, San Ġiljan showed their class in the closing stages, producing a decisive surge of goals that broke the deadlock and secured their second victory in the competition. This result ensures San Ġiljan joins Sliema in advancing to the next phase, keeping Maltese representation strong in the tournament.
