Samuel Cassar Clinches Double Bronze at Santo Domingo Open 2026

Badminton player Samuel Cassar celebrated his birthday in style after securing two bronze medals in the mixed doubles and men’s doubles events at the Santo Domingo Open 2026 in the Dominican Republic.

The impressive achievement followed three demanding weeks of international competition, featuring strong performances, closely contested matches and tough defeats against high-level opponents.

Despite hoping for medals of a different colour, Cassar expressed satisfaction with his results, particularly following a challenging year on the international badminton circuit.

The double podium finish reflects months of dedication, intensive summer training and personal investment, with Cassar encouraged by the progress he has made against strong international opposition.

Having recently competed in several high-level tournaments, Cassar believes his hard work is beginning to pay off, providing renewed confidence and motivation for the challenges ahead.

His attention now turns to Peru, where he will compete in the final tournament of the tour next week, aiming to maintain his positive momentum.

Cassar also thanked his supporters, coaching team and sponsors for their continued encouragement and belief throughout his journey.

The double bronze achievement marks another encouraging step forward in Cassar’s pursuit of further success on the international badminton stage.
