Rodrick Zerafa Calls To Secure Future Of Maltese Regatta

Rodrick Zerafa, Executive Head of European Services in Malta, has urged action to ensure the future of Malta’s traditional Regatta.

In a statement published on social media, Zerafa emphasised that while enthusiasm for this unique sport remains strong, there is a need for greater professionalism and long-term planning.

Zerafa said that the Regatta is more than a festival event. It represents a vital part of Maltese heritage, sustained by rowers, committee members, and enthusiasts who make significant personal sacrifices.

He noted that these efforts are often under-appreciated and called for measures to support participants and improve organisation.

He encouraged the relevant Authorities to step forward and work with the National Regatta Association to develop a clear plan for the sport’s future.

Zerafa proposed open discussions with enthusiasts to identify challenges and explore solutions, ensuring coordinated and effective reform.
