Rodney Gatt to Represent Malta in Prix des Rencontres Internationales in Paris

Rodney Gatt is set to represent Malta in the prestigious Prix des Rencontres Internationales, which will take place tonight at the Vincennes racecourse in Paris. The 2025 edition of the race is scheduled to start at approximately 21:45 CET and is organised by the French Trotting Association, Trotteur Français, bringing together drivers from countries that collaborate with the French trotting community.
Gatt will ride Giant Dream, a nine-year-old son of Royal Dream, starting from post 11 in the second row behind the starting car. Although considered an outsider, the horse and rider are expected to put in a determined and spirited performance in this highly competitive event.
The Prix des Rencontres Internationales also serves as a gathering of owners of top French trotters from around the world. Among the Maltese participants are Andre Farrugia and Ian Scerri, owners of Hanouchka, who was named Malta Racing Club Horse of the Year 2024. Hanouchka had an exceptional season, achieving six wins, five second-place finishes, and four third-place finishes from 18 races, cementing her status as one of Malta’s premier trotters.
The Malta Racing Club extended its best wishes to Rodney Gatt for his participation, while congratulating Andre Farrugia and Ian Scerri on Hanouchka’s remarkable achievements. Fans will be eagerly watching tonight as Malta makes its mark on the international trotting stage.
