Robert Abela Visits Ħal Far Raceway Amid Ambitious Motorsport Project

Prime Minister Robert Abela expressed satisfaction with the strong progress being registered on the Hal Far racetrack project, noting that motorsport is an area where Malta continues to excel and that local enthusiasts deserve high‑quality facilities. During his visit, the Prime Minister reviewed ongoing works and reaffirmed government’s commitment to delivering a modern, safe and professionally designed motorsport complex.

Abela also met motorsport enthusiasts as well as Keith Bartlett, CEO of Santa Pod Raceway, who praised the quality of work being carried out at Ħal Far. The Prime Minister said such positive feedback strengthens Malta’s ambition to host world‑renowned competitions, including events such as the FIA European Drag Racing Championships.

Enthusiasts welcomed the project’s momentum, emphasising the importance of a dedicated venue that supports athletes while reducing unsafe practices on public roads. Stakeholders described the visit as a sign of continued collaboration as the project moves closer to completion.
