Record 114 Entries Narrowed to Final 12 for Phone Refix Championship Showdown

The Phone Refix Championship for Silver category horses reaches its climax on Sunday, 29 March, with the much‑anticipated final scheduled for 4:00 PM at the Malta Equidrome. This year’s edition, organised by the Malta Racing Club, attracted a record 114 registered horses the highest participation ever for the event highlighting the growing strength and appeal of the Silver Class.

Following 10 heats and four semi‑finals, the field has been narrowed to the top 12 contenders: Jewel Meslois, Pure Joy, Dats Trixi, Denco’s Ozzy O., Hall Black Dream, Envol The Best, Doudou de Bouere, Harcange, Hulk de la Vallee, Onas Sabina, Comand, and Bakerman. The mix of experienced runners and promising newcomers is expected to produce a fiercely competitive and unpredictable final.

Speaking ahead of the event, Phone Refix director Charles Zammit expressed pride in supporting the championship for a second year, while Malta Racing Club vice‑chairman Tony Demanuele emphasised the importance of the Silver Class within the local racing calendar. Malta Equidrome CEO Dr Matthew Brincat and EquestriMalta CEO Max Zammit both praised the strong participation and growing sponsorship momentum.
