Pure Joy Captures Silver Championship as BOV Tazza l-Kbira Finalists Confirmed

The highlight of Sunday’s programme was the Phone Refix Championship Final for class Silver trotters over 2,140 metres, won in impressive fashion by Pure Joy, expertly driven by Cherise Farrugia. Twelve trotters lined up for the event, with Harcange (Paul Galea) taking an early lead ahead of Envol The Best, Dats Trixi, and Comand.

The race came alive 700 metres from the finish as several contenders increased the tempo. Among them was Swedish Pure Joy, who surged forward to take command. In the final straight, Jewel Meslois (Redent Magro) mounted a strong challenge, but Pure Joy held firm to secure victory. Onas Sabina (Marco Debono) and Hulk De La Vallee (Laura Frendo) completed the top four. After the race, Charles Zammit presented the trophy to Farrugia and owners Michael Sultana and Jonathan Borg.

The meeting also featured two BOV Tazza l-Kbira semifinals over 2,640 metres. Favourite Dj Spritz (Daniel Hili) dominated the first, claiming a sixth consecutive win ahead of Ghostbuster, Isocrate D’Ela, and Cash Bank Bigi. In the second semifinal, French trotter Hudo Du Ruel (Rodney Gatt) led throughout, finishing ahead of Forbach, Rampant, and Gaucho De Houelle. Twelve trotters now advance to the prestigious final.
