PRIME MINISTER ROBERT ABELA INAUGURATES MODERN HEATING SYSTEM AND NEW COVER AT BIRŻEBBUĠA AQUATIC CLUB

Prime Minister Robert Abela inaugurated a major investment for the entire community at Birżebbuġa Aquatic Club. Through this project, the club has been equipped with a modern heat pump system and a new pool cover to maintain water at an optimal temperature throughout the year. This upgrade will allow athletes, club members, and local residents to use the facility year-round.

Dr. Abela emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to delivering quality projects in sports and for the benefit of communities. He highlighted the collaboration between the Public Works Department, Sport Malta, the club representatives, and the Birżebbuġa Local Council. Thanks to this synergy, the only outdoor heated pool in Malta’s South will also be accessible to residents during specific times.

The Prime Minister noted that this project will strengthen social and sporting activity in the locality, ensure financial sustainability for the club, and forms part of broader regeneration plans, including a €12 million investment in Birżebbuġa’s promenade starting next year.
