Pietà Hotspurs’ U12 and U13 teams returned from the Gothia Cup in Sweden with memories that will last a lifetime after an impressive showing on one of the world’s largest youth football stages.

Over several days of competition in Gothenburg, both squads faced teams from across the globe, adapting quickly to the high tempo and physicality of international youth football. Their efforts were rewarded as both age groups qualified for the A group stage, a notable achievement in a tournament featuring hundreds of elite academies. Although their journey ended in the knockout rounds, the players demonstrated maturity, resilience and strong tactical discipline throughout.

Away from the pitch, the young Hotspurs enjoyed the full Gothia Cup experience, forming new friendships and embracing the cultural exchange that defines the tournament. Today, the boys were treated to a well‑deserved day at Liseberg, Gothenburg’s famous amusement park, rounding off their adventure with excitement and celebration before heading home.

The club extended its gratitude to all players, coaches, parents and supporters whose commitment made this international experience possible. For Pietà Hotspurs, the 2026 Gothia Cup will be remembered not only for the football played, but for the growth, joy and unity it inspired.
