Perfect Start for Malta’s Blackball Teams

The Maltese teams competing at the 2026 Blackball Nations Cup in Gibraltar had a perfect start to their campaign. On the opening day, all the men’s teams registered victories, collecting their first important points in the standings.

The Men’s A team secured a strong 19–6 win over Catalonia, followed by a hard-fought 13–12 victory against Spain A. Meanwhile, the Men’s B team defeated Mauritius B 16–9, and went on to overcome Gibraltar B1 and B2 with scores of 14–11 and 20–5 respectively.

The Under-23 team also impressed with a convincing 19–6 win over Wales B1. Positive results continued in the seniors category, with identical 19–6 victories against South Africa A and Belgium A.

In the individual competition, the Maltese players narrowly missed out on a perfect record, only losing once out of a total of 11 games played.

Meanwhile, the second day of the competition takes place today with a busy schedule for the Maltese teams.
