Noel Guy Turner bids farewell after six remarkable years with Sliema Wanderers

Sliema Wanderers have announced the departure of Noel Guy Turner, bringing to an end his latest six‑year spell at the club this time serving not only as a former player, but most recently as assistant coach. His exit marks the close of a chapter defined by leadership, loyalty and an unwavering commitment to the Blues.
Turner’s connection with Sliema runs deep. As a player, he represented the club from 1992 to 2011, making 348 Premier Division appearances and scoring 50 goals. He also earned 63 caps and scored twice for the Malta National Team between 1996 and 2004. His honours list is one of the most decorated in Maltese football: 4 League Championships, 3 FA Trophies, 3 Super Cups, 2 Super Five titles, 3 Lowenbrau Cups, and 3 Euro Challenge Cups. He was twice named Maltese Footballer of the Year (1995–96, 2002–03).
In his recent role as assistant coach, Turner continued to embody professionalism and mentorship, guiding players with the same passion he once showed on the pitch.
While Sliema Wanderers are saddened to see him move on, the club fully respects his decision to pursue a new challenge. Turner leaves with his legacy firmly cemented a true Sliema icon who will always have a home at the club.
