Noel Baldacchino To Represent Malta In Mediterranean Drivers Championship

Maltese driver Noel Baldacchino has been selected to represent Malta in the second leg of the Mediterranean Horseracing Union Drivers Championship at the Casarano Racecourse in Italy on Friday, 4th September 2026.

The championship races will form part of an important event on the Casarano racing calendar, the Gran Galà dell’Ippica del Mediterraneo. The programme will also feature the Gran Premio del Salento and the Champions League dei Comuni del Salento.

Baldacchino, recognised as one of Malta’s leading drivers, has represented the country in several international competitions and exchanges, achieving excellent results throughout his career with numerous victories in the Maltese silks.

The Maltese representative will compete in two races during Friday’s programme. In the fifth race, scheduled to start at 10:00 p.m., Baldacchino will drive number 2, FLORIDA GRIF. He will then partner number 7, DODO DEGLI ULIVI, in the seventh and final race of the meeting, scheduled for 11:20 p.m.

The Casarano event is the second leg of this year’s championship. The opening leg was held at the Malta Equidrome last April, when Charles Camilleri represented Malta and finished first among the championship drivers.

The other drivers representing their respective countries in the Italian leg are los Dumitru from Romania, Siampaolo Minucci from Italy, Uroš Predan from Slovenia, David Cinier form France, and João David Ferreira from Portugal.
