Nikolai Micallef close to completing move to Sliema Wanderers

Ħamrun Spartans defender Nikolai Micallef is expected to complete a move to Sliema Wanderers in the coming hours, with a permanent transfer between the two Maltese Premier League clubs now close to being finalised.

Sources close to L-Argument, which exclusively revealed the story, confirmed that an agreement has been reached following negotiations between the two clubs, with the 22-year-old set to formalise the transfer in the coming days.

Micallef is widely regarded as one of the most promising young defenders in Maltese football. He has already accumulated valuable experience in the Maltese leagues, having previously featured for Naxxar Lions and Tarxien Rainbows, in addition to his time with Ħamrun Spartans.

It is understood that two other Maltese Premier League clubs had expressed interest in securing Micallef’s services. However, all indications suggest that Sliema Wanderers are now set to win the race for his signature.
