Nico Sciberras has won the silver medal in the Trap Men Solo event at the European Shooting Championship U23 in Wroclaw, Poland his second podium finish at a continental competition. Sciberras advanced through three elimination phases and a semi‑final before meeting Türkiye’s Agca Egemen in the final, where he delivered a solid showing but ultimately placed second.

Team Malta also saw encouraging performances from Abiel Cassar, who progressed to the second phase, and Shazen Grech, who gained valuable experience in the opening round. Earlier in the Trap event held on 8–9 August, Sciberras hit 117/125 clays, earning a spot in the final and finishing 7th out of 40 athletes.

In Skeet, Andre Cassar narrowly missed the final by one clay, scoring 117/125 to place 12th among 46 competitors. The Maltese contingent was supported by coaches Bruno Gubellini and John Mary Bugeja, with MSSF President Sinclair Cassar leading the delegation.

Malta now looks ahead to the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, running from 21 August to 3 September, as the national squad continues its international campaign.
