Nicholas Strickland Reflects on Final Season with Sliema Wanderers U21s

Sliema Wanderers U21 captain Nicholas Strickland has shared a heartfelt message as he prepares to conclude his journey at the U21 level, marking the end of a four‑year spell filled with growth, challenges and memorable achievements. In his reflection, Strickland highlighted how he progressed from competing in Section B to captaining the squad in his final season—an experience he described as unforgettable.
He acknowledged that this season was one of the toughest, but also one of the most rewarding. Every training session, match and setback contributed to a strong sense of unity within the squad, culminating in a promotion that he considers a defining moment of his time with the team.
Strickland expressed deep appreciation for his teammates and coaches, emphasising how much the collective journey has shaped him. Wearing the captain’s armband in his final year at this level, he said, was an honour he will always cherish.
Although his U21 chapter is closing, the team’s campaign is not over. With knockout matches scheduled for May, Strickland noted that there is still one more challenge ahead one more opportunity for the group to give everything for each other as they aim to finish the season on a high.
