Multiple Athletes Shine During Run Gozo Events

Over the weekend, Gozo hosted a series of long-distance running events as part of the much-anticipated Run Gozo, attracting athletes across multiple race categories.

The highlight of the event was the half-marathon, covering 21.1km of Gozitan terrain. In the men’s category, Charlton Debono claimed victory, while Karen Vella secured first place in the women’s race, both delivering strong performances across the challenging course.

The 10km race struck a demanding balance between speed and endurance. Joseph Borg emerged victorious in the men’s race, with Maria Buttigieg taking the top spot in the women’s category.

The shortest distance of the day, the 5km race, also saw impressive competition. Bruno Salido Jove crossed the line first in the men’s race, while Felicienne Mercieca secured victory in the women’s division.

The event once again highlighted Gozo’s growing reputation as a hub for endurance sports, with runners tackling varied terrain and competitive fields across all distances.
