Mosta Chase Top-Six Spot as Żabbar Seek Another Upset

Żabbar St Patrick and Mosta face a crucial encounter this afternoon at the Centenary Stadium, with both teams seeking valuable points in the Malta Premier League.

Mosta enter the contest seventh on 14 points, level with sixth-placed Birkirkara, knowing victory could significantly boost their Top Six ambitions.

However, the Blues have struggled for consistency, going seven matches without victory and drawing 2-2 against Hibernians in their latest outing.

Żabbar, meanwhile, approach the fixture with renewed confidence following an impressive 2-1 triumph over reigning champions Floriana, their second victory in three matches.

Adolfo Sormani's side will be without suspended midfielder Jake Micallef but will hope to maintain their recent improvement.

Mosta emerged victorious in their last meeting, winning 2-1 in April, although Żabbar had previously recorded an entertaining 5-3 success.

With the Opening Round's first phase concluding, both sides will be determined to secure maximum points in this important encounter.
