The Aquatic Sports Association of Malta has announced the resignation of Milan Cirovic from his roles as Senior Men’s National Team Head Coach and Technical Director of Maltese Men’s Water Polo, marking the end of a highly impactful spell at the helm of the national programme.

Cirovic’s decision was met with clear regret by the ASA Executive, who praised his exceptional contribution to the sport. Since taking charge, he has overseen a period of significant progress, guiding Malta to historic international milestones while elevating the technical and professional standards across all levels of the men’s game. His influence extended well beyond the senior squad, playing a crucial role in strengthening youth development structures and shaping the long‑term technical framework of Maltese water polo.

ASA President Karl Izzo described Cirovic’s departure as a major loss, emphasising his dedication, expertise, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. Izzo thanked him on behalf of the association, athletes, staff, and the wider water polo community.

The ASA will now begin the process of appointing a successor as Malta prepares for an important cycle of youth and senior international competitions, with further updates on the national programme expected in the coming weeks.
