MFPA Names Premier League Best XI 2025/2026

The Malta Football Players Association revealed the Premier League best XI for the 2025/2026 season during the MFPA Awards ceremony held on 4th May 2026.

The lineup was dominated by Valletta FC with 3 players, and Hamrun Spartans, with 4 players. The rest of the lineup was composed of two players from Floriana FC, and a player each from Marsaxlokk FC and Naxxar Lions FC.

Hamrun Spartans and Malta National Team goalkeeper Henry Bonello was chosen ahead of Naxxar Lions' promising goalkeeper Matthias Debono. Marsaxlokk's Leandro Aguirre, Valletta's Sava Radic, and Hamrun Spartans' Emerson Marcelina and Rafael Compri form the back line.

The midfield is composed of Floriana's Jake Grech and Federico Varela, together with Valletta's Yuri Messias.

The front line is made up of Naxxar's Joao 'Vitinho' Souza Dos Santos, Valletta's Thaylor Aldama, and Hamrun Spartans' Joseph Mbong, who was also named Premier League player of the year.

Floriana FC boss Daniel Portela Dos Santos was named best Premier League coach, leaving his mark throughout his first season in Maltese Football.
