Melita And Birzebbuga Face Off In Challenge Cup Final

The stage is set for the Challenge Cup Final as Melita and Birzebbuga are set to clash at the National Stadium.

Both teams overcame their Gozitan opponents in the semi finals held at the Gozo Stadium last weekend, and will now face each other in the final game of the season.

Melita beat Xewkija 3-1 on Saturday, while Birzebbuga defeated S.K Victoria Wanderers 2-1 on Sunday. Both teams will be fighting for silverware after missing out on the Challenge League Trophy.

Birzebbuga St Peter's achieved a historic promotion to the Premier League after finishing second, becoming the 38th team to compete in the Premier League since the start of the competition. Melita finished in 4th place, failing to return to the Premier League after last season's relegation, yet this final will serve as an opportunity to make a statement heading into next season.
