MEDCOMMS ROUND MALTA RACE TO CLOSE RMYC 2025 SEASON

The Royal Malta Yacht Club will conclude its 2025 racing calendar with the eagerly anticipated Medcomms Round Malta Race on Saturday, 13 December. With 23 boats confirmed, this year’s edition promises to be one of the most competitive in recent memory, blending seasoned racers with an increased number of cruising yachts. The growing participation from the cruising community highlights the race’s broad appeal across different classes.

A compulsory race briefing will be held on Wednesday, 10 December at the Club’s Centenary Hall. Among the early entries is last year’s overall winner, Sebastian Ripard’s Calypso, which will face stiff competition from proven performers such as Elusive 2, Jubatus, Ton Ton Laferla, Vivace, and Lartista. The cruisers’ class will also feature strong contenders including Inspiration, Kira, and Thunder Child.

Adding to the excitement is a generous prize package supported by Medcomms. The overall winner will receive a Garmin quatix® 8 marine smartwatch, while First in Class winners will be awarded Kannad 40L Grab Bag backpacks. Second-place finishers will earn Medcomms vouchers, and third-place competitors will take home Garmin backpacks.
