Mazzotta Names 31-Player Provisional Squad for Euro U21 Qualifiers

Malta Under-21 National Team Coach Davide Mazzotta has unveiled a 31‑player provisional squad ahead of two challenging UEFA Euro U21 Qualifiers away to Greece and Georgia later this month. The team continues its Group F campaign with two demanding fixtures on foreign soil, offering a valuable opportunity for growth despite a difficult start to the qualifiers.
Malta will first travel to Greece for their sixth match of the campaign, facing the group leaders on Friday 27th March 2026 at the Municipal Stadium of Livadia, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00hrs (CET). Four days later, the squad heads to Georgia for another stern test, playing on Tuesday 31st March at the Ramaz Shengelia Stadium in Kutaisi at 16:00hrs (CET).
Mazzotta’s selection includes several new faces, such as US Livorno’s Nikita Shchepetkin, Sliema Wanderers duo Fabian Lauri and Nicholas Strickland, Gzira United’s Dejan Farrugia, and Birkirkara’s Kaiden Fenech.
