Mattias Micallef Confirmed By Naxxar Lions For Third Consecutive Loan Spell

Mattias Micallef has rejoined Naxxar Lions FC for his third consecutive loan spell from Birkirkara FC.

Mattias went through the ranks of Birkirkara's youth academy and proved to be a very promising and interesting prospect for the Stripes. In recent years, he has sought to earn more regular playing time at senior level, and has had two successful loan spells with the Lions so far.

During the 2024/2025 season, Mattias helped Naxxar's youth team clinch the BOV Youth League A, helping them become the second Maltese club to achieve youth Champions League qualification.

With the senior team, Mattias earned regular playing time, even featuring in the starting 11 during various occasions, displaying determination and confidence.
