Marsamxett Confront Category A Reality After Challenging Regatta Outing

Marsamxett Regatta Club reflected on a demanding return to Category A, acknowledging both the difficulty of the level and the foundations now needed to continue building. The club placed third in the Tal‑Pass B (Four Oars) and secured fourth place in the Kajjikki, Fregatini, Tal‑Midalji, and the overall Category A aggregate.

While ambitions were higher, Marsamxett noted that the three clubs finishing ahead Senglea, Birgu and Kalkara benefited from long‑established structures and experienced crews. The club congratulated Senglea Regatta Club for winning the Category A Shield, Birgu Regatta Club and Senglea for the Category B Shield, and Kalkara Regatta Club for the Women’s Shield, while also praising the Organising Committee for clear improvements in event management.

Marsamxett emphasised the resilience and unity shown by its committee, volunteers, helpers, members and benefactors, whose support remained constant throughout the journey. A key positive was the club’s renewed visibility in national media and the strong backing received from Valletta supporters.
