Maria Farrugia Crowned December Player of the Month After Standout Performances

Maria Farrugia has been voted Bristol City Women’s Player of the Month for December, earning the recognition of supporters after a standout run of performances. The Maltese forward played a decisive role throughout the month, contributing directly to goals and driving the Robins’ attacking play.

Farrugia scored twice in December, including a goal and an assist in the emphatic 4–0 home win over Sheffield United, a result that underlined her growing influence within the squad. Her sharp movement, work rate and creativity were central to Bristol City’s improved form as they closed out the year.

She also made her mark in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, finding the net in the 2–0 Third Round victory against Portsmouth to help the Robins secure their place in the Fourth Round.

The award highlights Farrugia’s rising importance to the team and her continued development as one of Malta’s most exciting football talents.
