Queen’s Park FC extended a warm welcome to a group of young Maltese footballers during their 1–1 draw with Ayr United on Saturday, as part of a week‑long development trip organised by CIC Sports. The select group, made up of players from several Maltese clubs including Hibernians, Balzan, Ħamrun Spartans, Pietà Hotspurs, Swieqi United and Fgura United, travelled to Scotland to gain international exposure both on and off the pitch.

The Maltese contingent, led by Maltese FA official Franco Agius, attended the William Hill Championship fixture at Hampden Park before continuing their programme of matches and training sessions. During their stay, the players took part in friendly fixtures against On The Ball Academy, Blantyre Soccer Centre and a West Region select team, offering them valuable experience against Scottish grassroots opposition.

Queen’s Park’s head of football operations, Brian Sproule, also delivered a dedicated coaching session, giving the Maltese youngsters insight into the club’s training methods and development philosophy. CIC Sports’ regular international tours aim to broaden young players’ football education, and the Scotland visit was warmly received by both hosts and participants.
