U17 SECTION C AND D DELIVER THRILLING 2-1 CLASHES OVER THE WEEKEND

U17 section C and D football shone over the weekend with Sirens battling out a 2-1 win over section d promotion rivals Birzebugga Windmills and Swieqi United edging out cross-town rivals Pembroke in section C.

Sirens managed to overcome the Windmills with a score of 2-1, with goals coming from Yan Cutajar in the 55th and 73rd minute of the game with Matthew Calleja picking up a last minute consolation goal for Birzebbuga.

Despite sharing the same 2-1 scoreline, it was a closer match up in section C with Swieqi scoring quickly in the 2nd minute through Maximilian Kunath and doubling their lead in the 35th minute through Keene Spiteri. However Swieqi’s comfortable lead didn’t last long with Pembroke immediately scoring in the 36th minute Timmy Sciberras. However Pembroke couldn’t find any equaliser with the match ending 2-1.
