Maltese Runners Impress at Naturosa Catania Marathon

A dedicated group of Maltese runners delivered a series of notable performances at the Naturosa Catania Marathon held on Sunday, competing across multiple distances and proudly representing Malta on Italian soil.

In the full marathon, Loren Mercieca of La Salle AC produced an outstanding run, clocking a chip time of 3:41:51. Her effort earned her second place in the Over 45 female category, a result that highlights both her consistency and competitive strength on the international stage.

The half marathon also featured a solid Maltese presence, with Fiorella Borg, Stephen Cassar and Keith Gatt all taking on the challenging route and finishing strongly among a large field of participants.

In the 10.5 km race, Kimberly Terribile and Joseph Buttigieg added to Malta’s positive showing, completing their event with determination and contributing to a well-rounded team performance.

The participation and results achieved in Catania reflect the growing enthusiasm and commitment of Maltese athletes competing abroad. Their efforts continue to bring visibility and pride to the local running community.
