Maltese Fighters Deliver Outstanding Medal Haul at Prestigious Porto Box Cup

Maltese boxing enjoyed a standout weekend at the Porto Box Cup, one of Europe’s largest and most competitive amateur tournaments. Nine athletes from Good Vibes Boxing Club and Fight Factory represented Malta under the guidance of Good Vibes coach Roland Sammut, who was present on behalf of the Malta Boxing Federation. Their collective performance produced an impressive medal tally and showcased the growing strength of Malta’s boxing scene.
Brayden Farrugia delivered one of the tournament’s highlights, securing gold and a Gold Belt in the Men’s Senior 71kg category. Joyden Sarcia of Fight Factory matched that achievement, winning gold in the Men’s Benjamins division. Good Vibes athletes continued the momentum with Delson Grech taking silver in the Men’s Junior 50kg class, Zen Grant earning silver in the Men’s Senior 67kg category, and Andrew Magro claiming bronze in the same division.
Also competing with determination were Cleaden Terrible, Zack Coleiro, Josef El Shemy, and Lukas Markevicius, each contributing to Malta’s strong presence at the event.
The results mark one of Malta’s most successful collective outings abroad, reflecting the dedication and rising talent within the island’s boxing community.
