Maltese Archers Compete at Prestigious Swiss Open Lausanne 2026

Three Maltese compound archers, Jeremy Bartolo, Daniel Schembri and Brian Micallef, represented Malta at the prestigious Swiss Open Lausanne 2026, held at the World Archery Excellence Centre in Switzerland.
The Maltese contingent was accompanied by Head Coach John Schembri, who provided guidance and support throughout the international competition.
The event, held between October 30 and November 1, marked the opening stage of the 2027 Hyundai Indoor World Series and attracted 373 archers from 30 countries, including several of the world's leading competitors.
Competing in the men's compound category, the Maltese trio faced strong international opposition in a tournament renowned for its exceptionally high standards.
Among the leading competitors was Denmark's world number one Mathias Fullerton, who produced a perfect score of 600 points during qualification.
The participation of Bartolo, Schembri and Micallef provided another valuable opportunity for Malta's archers to gain international experience and test their abilities against established competitors.
Their involvement also highlighted the continued development of archery in Malta and the importance of competing regularly at international level.
With the Indoor World Series attracting elite athletes from across the globe, the Swiss Open offered the Maltese representatives an important platform to further develop their competitive experience and strengthen Malta's presence in international archery.
