Local

Katie Vella Wood, Zia Fujii, Liam Daly and Aiden Muscat, recently represented Malta at the 2026 Willebroek Europe Triathlon World Triathlon Youth Development Camp held in Belgium, accompanied by World Triathlon Level 1 Coach Michael Hughes.

The camp brought together promising young triathletes from across Europe, offering participants the opportunity to further develop their technical skills, broaden their understanding of the sport, and train alongside some of the continent's most talented young athletes. The initiative forms part of Europe Triathlon and World Triathlon's ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of elite triathletes.

Over the past few years, an increasing number of young Maltese triathletes have benefited from participating in these international development camps. In addition to receiving high-quality coaching and training, the athletes can build lasting friendships, exchange experiences, and create valuable connections with fellow triathletes from across Europe. These experiences have been made possible through the strong and positive relationships the Malta Triathlon Federation has established with Europe Triathlon and World Triathlon.

The Malta Triathlon Federation extended its sincere appreciation to the Maltese Olympic Committee and Europe Triathlon for their continued support, which made the participation of the Maltese delegation in this valuable development opportunity possible.
