Malta Women Set for Challenging Start to World Cup Qualifiers

Malta Women’s National Team will begin their 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifying campaign next month with two demanding fixtures that promise to test their progress. Under the leadership of coach Manuela Tesse, Malta enters Group B2 of the Women’s European Qualifiers following their impressive promotion to League B in the last UEFA Women’s Nations League — the second time the achievement has been secured under Tesse’s guidance.
Drawn alongside Switzerland, Northern Ireland and Türkiye, Malta will be aiming to continue their upward trajectory as they seek to establish themselves at this higher competitive level. Their opening assignment comes on Tuesday, 3rd March 2026, when they face Türkiye at Pendik Stadyumu in Istanbul at 3.00pm. Four days later, the team returns home to host Switzerland at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali, with kick-off scheduled for 7.00pm.
With preparations intensifying, ticket sales for the home match against Switzerland are now open, offering supporters the chance to back the team in this crucial qualifier.
