MALTA WATERPOLO TEAM FINISH 10TH IN WORLD CUP DIVISION 2

Malta’s national waterpolo team has secured an impressive 10th-place finish at the Water Polo World Cup Division 2, which was hosted in Malta.
Competing against a strong field of 23 teams, the Maltese side delivered a series of commendable performances throughout the tournament. They ultimately finished 10th after a hard-fought loss to Canada in the 9th/10th place classification match.
Despite the final result, Malta’s campaign was highlighted by notable victories over Brazil, Argentina, and Kazakhstan, a clear indication of the team’s growing competitiveness on the international stage.
The tournament showcased the continued development of Maltese waterpolo, with the national team demonstrating resilience and quality against a diverse range of opponents.
Attention now turns to the upcoming women’s competition, as Malta continues to play host on the global stage. The women’s edition of the tournament is set to take place between the 21st and 26th of April, promising more high-level waterpolo action in the days ahead.
