Malta U19 Thrash Liechtenstein 4-0 in Away Friendly

Malta’s Under-19 national team produced an impressive performance to beat Liechtenstein 4-0 away from home in their international friendly on Monday, September 28.

The young Maltese side dominated proceedings from the opening whistle, putting their opponents under pressure and earning a convincing victory.

Ben Gaerty opened the scoring before Matteo Paolo Grech took centre stage with a brace, adding two goals to Malta’s tally. Zyas Vella Newell also found the net to complete the four-goal triumph.

The result marked a strong response from Malta in the second of two friendlies against Liechtenstein, following their first meeting on September 26.

Malta took an early lead in the seventh minute and doubled their advantage before the interval. The visitors continued their attacking display after the break, scoring twice more to seal a comprehensive win.

The victory underlined the progress of the young Maltese players, who showed attacking quality and control throughout the encounter. With goals from three different players, including Grech’s impressive brace, Malta ended their away double-header on a high note.
