Malta U16 Women Top Group After Superb Win Over Kosovo

Malta’s U16 women’s national team closed the group stage in style, defeating Kosovo to finish top of Group A at the FIBA U16 Women’s EuroBasket Division C. It was a commanding team performance, built on intensity, discipline and standout individual displays that pushed Malta confidently into the semi‑finals.
Samira Deguara once again proved unstoppable, delivering 27 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists, controlling the game on both ends of the floor. Claire Portelli produced one of the tournament’s most complete performances, finishing with 16 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals, a stat line that underlined her dominance across all phases of play. Eve Axisa added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, providing creativity and composure in Malta’s offensive flow.
The victory capped an impressive group campaign that included a strong win over Georgia, confirming Malta as one of the most balanced and dangerous teams in the competition. Their defensive pressure, ball movement and depth have made them early favourites for promotion.
