Malta U-18 Waterpolo Team Beat Germany: Place 9th In Europe

The Malta U-18 waterpolo national team made history by defeating Germany in a penalty shootout to secure ninth place at the European Championship in Oradea, Romania.
This marked Malta’s second victory over Germany in the tournament and delivered the country’s best-ever result in a European Championship at any age group.
Under coach Jonathan Valletta, Malta’s U-18 waterpolo team started strongly, keeping a clean sheet and taking a 5-3 lead. The match ended 12-12, forcing a penalty shootout.
Key saves by goalkeeper Zack Dzanovic and successful penalties from Luigi Dimech and Sam Engerer secured a historic victory.
