Malta’s Under‑16 boys produced an encouraging performance in their second international friendly against North Macedonia, earning a goalless draw after an excellent second‑half display that deserved more than a point. The match, played just three days after a difficult 0–5 defeat in the first encounter, highlighted the team’s resilience and rapid improvement.

The opening half saw North Macedonia create several half‑chances, with striker Medin Emini and Mateja Stevanovic both missing the target early on. Malta goalkeeper Noah Mulholland was alert throughout, dealing confidently with a series of corners and denying Filip Gjiorgjioski from close range. Despite pressure from the visitors, the first half ended scoreless.

After the break, Malta took control, pinning North Macedonia in their own half for long stretches. Sean Farrugia threatened down the right, while Gianni Zerafa appeared to be fouled in the box, only for the referee to wave play on. Mulholland produced a crucial save on 71 minutes to stop Marin Krstevski’s point‑blank effort.

Malta pushed for a late winner, with Zerafa and Jerome Gaffiero both going close, but North Macedonian goalkeeper Dimitar Petrov held firm. The improved performance offered plenty of positives for the Maltese youngsters moving forward.
