Malta Set for World Pool Championships in Morocco

Malta will once again compete at the World Pool Championships in Marrakech, with four national teams beginning their campaign on Thursday, 17 September. The tournament runs until 27 September and brings together the world’s strongest cue‑sport nations.

The men’s team, fresh from winning the 2026 European Championship, features Ryan Pisani, Johan Attard, Clayton Castaldi, Dejan Grech, Clint Azzopardi, Kevin Schembri, Miguel Falzon and Gary Carr, led by manager Carmel Cilia. They will also defend last year’s Men’s Team Shootout crown.

The Under‑18 squad, world champions for three consecutive years, is captained by Vince Saliba and includes Nick Muscat, Denzel Falzon, Jake Castaldi and Dielyn Edwards.

The Over‑50s team, managed by Pasquale Sciberras, aims to retain its world title with Antoine Aquilina, Ray Caruana, Chris Mills, Jason Mangion, Jesmond Schembri and Chris Cohen.

The Under‑23 team, led by Noel Cassar, features Steve Muscat, Nordai Desira and Matthias Debono.
