Malta Sends Six Teams to 2026 European Championships in Ayia Napa

Malta will be represented by six teams at the 2026 European Championships, taking place in Ayia Napa between 21 and 27 February. A 49‑person delegation — including athletes, officials and supporters — will depart Malta tomorrow as they prepare to challenge for honours in the Men’s, Under‑18, Under‑23, Over‑50 and Over‑60 categories.
The Men’s team, finalists in the last two editions, will once again aim for the top step of the podium. Led by Carmel Cilia, the squad features Miguel Falzon, Johan Attard, Dejan Grech, Miguel Amato, Ryan Pisani and Gary Carr.
Malta’s Over‑50 team enters the tournament as reigning World Champions. Managed by Pasquale Sciberras, the experienced group includes Jeffrey Farrugia, Jason Mangion, Marco Bonello, Ray Caruana, Antoine Aquilina and Kevin Mercieca.
The Under‑23 team, coached by Noel Cassar, will field Steve Muscat, Matthias Debono and Casdy Vella. Meanwhile, the Under‑18 squad guided by Vince Saliba introduces new talents Shazen Ciantar, Danzilee Ciantar and Ayken Gambin, alongside the more seasoned Nick Muscat.
In the Over‑50 B category, Manuel Mallia leads Paul Camilleri, Manuel Galea, Kenneth Pisani, Jesmond Falzon and Omar Caruana. The Over‑60 team, captained by Dominic Camilleri, includes Tonio Mifsud, Giovanni Calleja, Alfred Attard, Mark Debono and Roger Calleja.
