Malta Secures Second Nations League Win in Mons

Malta’s emerging equestrian talent delivered another impressive showing in Mons, Belgium, claiming a second Nations League victory and narrowly missing out on the overall title by just two points. The Maltese contingent finished with 53 points, behind Belgium on 55, while France followed closely with 52.
The standout moment came in the third race, where Luca Bartolo Fenech, riding Little Big, secured a superb win. Hailey Vella, on My Lagan Juniper, added to Malta’s strong performance with a fourth‑place finish. Earlier in the day, Aiden Buttigieg opened Malta’s account with a victory in the first race.
In the final event, Jayden Debono (Majesty) and Buttigieg (Geronimo) placed fourth and sixth respectively, ensuring Malta remained competitive throughout all four races. Their combined efforts resulted in two wins from four events a clear sign of Malta’s growing strength in international youth equestrian sport.
The result highlights the ongoing progress driven by the collaboration between the Malta Racing Club Academy and EquestriMalta, whose support continues to create valuable international opportunities for Maltese riders.
