Nine‑year‑old Maltese karting driver Yan Camilleri has capped off a breakthrough season by finishing second overall in the 2026 ACI Zona 6 Championship (Mini Gr.3 U10), earning a coveted place in the Coppa Italia final at Sarno. His decisive podium at Kartodromo Minoa in Sicily sealed the runner‑up title and underlined his rapid rise in Italian karting.

Camilleri’s weekend began with difficulty after being caught in the slowest qualifying pack, limiting his pace and placing him on the back foot. He recovered to fifth in the pre‑final, then delivered a determined charge in the final, climbing to second place and securing both a podium and the championship runner‑up position.
