Malta’s Futsal Scene Gets Major Boost as MFA Installs New Portable Parquet Pitch

Malta’s futsal community is celebrating a significant milestone as the Malta Football Association begins installing its upgraded portable parquet pitch at the MFCC. The professional-grade surface, acquired with the support of SportMalta, previously hosted the UEFA U19 Euro Championship 2025 in Moldova, where Portugal claimed the title.

Mark Marlow, Director for Malta Futsal at MFA, expressed strong enthusiasm for the project, noting that the revamped pitch will help attract high-calibre international futsal events to the island. He highlighted Malta’s growing potential in the sport and emphasised the importance of collaboration with the Futsal Malta Association to bring more elite-level matches to local fans.

Marlow believes the investment will not only elevate the standard of futsal in Malta but also contribute to sports tourism, strengthening the country’s reputation as a host for international competitions.
