Malta’s Benjamin Westwood, 14, Crowned Vice World Champion in Italy

Fourteen-year-old Maltese karting talent Benjamin “Benji” Westwood has achieved another remarkable international success, finishing runner-up in the X30 Senior category at the 2026 IAME Warrior Final in Viterbo, Italy.
Competing against 105 Senior drivers from around the world, Westwood delivered an outstanding performance, claiming heat victories and demonstrating exceptional speed, maturity and determination despite being among the youngest competitors.
Representing the French-based Victory Lane Racing Team, Westwood benefited from the team's dedication, technical expertise and continued belief in his racing potential.
The prestigious IAME Warrior Final brings together leading international karting competitors, making Westwood's achievement particularly significant for Maltese motorsport.
Having started karting at just seven years old, Westwood has spent years training and competing across Europe, making considerable sacrifices in pursuit of his racing ambitions.
His latest success follows a third-place finish at the IAME Euro Series in Wackersdorf, Germany, earlier this season, where he impressed on his Senior debut.
With two major international Senior podiums already secured in 2026, Westwood continues to establish himself as one of Malta's most promising young motorsport talents.
