MALTA RUGBY MAKES HISTORY WITH FIRST SEVENS TEAM AT DUBAI 7s

The Malta Rugby Football Union has announced a landmark achievement for local rugby: the formation of its first-ever representative Sevens team to compete at the prestigious Dubai 7s tournament, taking place from 28 to 30 November.

A squad of 13 talented athletes will represent Malta in the International Open Category, a significant step forward for the nation’s growing Sevens programme. This milestone follows Malta’s recent success at the GSSE 2025, where the team proudly secured a bronze medal, signaling the sport’s rapid development on the island.

The Dubai 7s is one of the most renowned rugby festivals globally, attracting elite teams and thousands of fans. Malta’s participation marks a new chapter in its rugby journey, showcasing ambition and commitment to international competition.
