Malta Premier Matchday 3 Recap: Mosta Keep Perfect Start, Sliema Earn 1st Win

Matchday 3 of the Malta Premier League provided mixed results from both ends of the table, with Mosta keeping their pefect record to move up top, and Ħamrun and Sliema getting their first points in this campaign.
Mosta won their third game from three, beating Birkirkara 1-0 to move up top. Floriana and Ħamrun settled for a 1-1 draw at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, with the Spartans getting their first point of the season after suffering losses against Mosta and Birkirkara.
Sliema achieved their first win of the season against Birżebbuġa St. Peter's, beating the newly promoted team 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium. Birżebbuġa and Gżira United remain winless after three matchdays, with the Maroons suffering two late penalties to lose 2-1 to Balzan.
Żabbar St. Patrick salvaged a point against Hibernians, with both teams settling for a 1-1 draw at the Centenary Stadium. Marsaxlokk leapfrogged Valletta to move to third place, after the southern side beat the citizens 2-1.
The Malta Premier returns next Wednesday, with the new season now in full bloom after three matchdays full of action at the Centenary and Tony Bezzina Stadiums.
