Malta Premier League Launches Solidarity Fund For Lower Divisions

The Malta Premier League has announced the establishment of a new Solidarity Fund designed to support clubs competing outside the top tier of Maltese football.
As part of the initiative, Premier League clubs have collectively committed €150,000 from their own revenues, rather than UEFA funds, to be redistributed among lower-division sides. This contribution equates to around €12,500 per Premier League club, underlining a collective effort to strengthen the wider football pyramid.
The fund will be administered by the Malta Premier League and distributed across three divisions. Clubs competing in the Challenge League will receive 45 per cent of the total amount, while 33 per cent will be allocated to National Amateur League I clubs. The remaining 22 per cent will go to sides in National Amateur League II.
The Malta FA has welcomed the launch of the Solidarity Fund, describing such programmes as a key feature of a healthy and sustainable football ecosystem, and reaffirmed its commitment to continued investment across all levels of the game.
