The Malta national football team has confirmed its final squad ahead of Thursday’s European Qualifier against Lithuania.

The squad will depart for Kaunas with preparations complete, aiming to deliver a strong performance on the road. Supporters back home are urged to rally behind the team as they look to secure vital points.

Coach Emilio De Leo has placed the spotlight on a blend of fresh talent and returning experience.

The standout inclusion is Irvin Cardona of Saint-Étienne, making his first appearance since committing his international future to Malta. He is joined by Jake Brimmer of Auckland FC, another debutant expected to provide creativity in midfield. Rising prospect Kean Scicluna (19) is also rewarded with a call-up following his progress through the youth ranks.

In midfield, Yannick Yankam returns, while Ilyas Chouaref is available again after suspension. However, Malta will be without captain Matthew Guillaumier for the Lithuania fixture due to suspension, though he is set to feature against San Marino. Injuries have sidelined Teddy Teuma and James Lee Carragher.

The match kicks off on Thursday, 4 September at 18:00 CET and will be broadcast live on TVMSport+.
